Old poems I wrote before the Twilight Saga ever existed

gothic longing love

Who are you stranger?
Following me deep into the darkness,
Deep into the night.
I turn and lose my fear
But he’s out of sight.

I seek him out
When he creeps up behind
I spin and am lost in the intensity of his eyes.
He whispers in my ear not to be afraid
He doesn’t want to hurt me
I will be remade.

He bites into my neck
I can’t pull away,
He drains out all my blood
Almost dead, I lay.

I do not feel fear
Because I will be like him too.
He’ll make me undead,
Youthful and new.

I’ll live without soul, conscience or fear
I will be strong,
Shed not one tear.

We walked the world together
Me and my stranger.
For years to follow
We were the danger.

Until one dawn
He did not return home
The pain was unbearable
In my black heart of stone.

So it seems I’m not so tough
Being immortal isn’t enough.
Now I realise,
Struck from above
I can’t live alone
I need love.
