Despite the temperamental weather, we know that the sun is out there. Hiding and sneaking behind those grumpy clouds before jumping out in sudden, yellow bursts!

It’s teasing us and tempting us to consider spending the day with the sand and waves, or giving us the idea that today seems decent enough to leave our jacket at home. Soon enough it will be acceptable again to wear thongs to work and plenty of pasty thighs will soon be fried.

Remember the summer times when your icecream would melt faster than you could eat it? When hours were spent leaping about the sprinkler, in your undies, beneath the heat? Can you think back to the weeks of sunny summers that have passed, the dry coos of circling birds, the crunchy grass and the satisfaction of a cold drink, a handy fan or even cool tiles to lay upon?

It’s days like this we miss.

But, despite its moods, summer is indeed here and so is our latest Vibewire Writing Competition!

In celebration of the spirit of summer, Vibewire wants to send some talented individuals and their friends to Sydney’s unique boutique music festival- Days Like This!

Days Like This! is a music festival crafted for music lovers, by music lovers and famous for its ‘intimate and rarified vibe’.  The one-day musical rainbow of all genres will flood the Moore Park Entertainment Quarter on Sunday the 10th of January 2010.

Vibewire are happily handing the creative vibes over to you.

To win FREE tickets to Days Like This! take the following sentence:

Simply include this sentence anywhere in a 500 word short story, poem or journalistic piece to be in the running to win one of the following:

• First prize wins 2 x double passes valued at $500
• Second prize wins 1 x double pass valued at $250
• Third prize receives a T-shirt + CD valued at $50
• Fourth prize receives a free CD
