Have you ever been bored in class, at a meeting or during a speech and started to make your pen do tricks- backflips and swivels and flicks between your fingers? Did everyone suddenly look at you agitatedly and stare when you dropped your pen, ultimately stuffing up the trick?
Well, now is your chance to prove to all those who doubted your elite skills that those crazy pen-dancing antics were for a reason!
Vibewire wants all the bored youth of Australia to grab a pen, pencil, biro, quill, texta, or any other object which supplies ink and set it dancing on the page! It is time to become recklessly creative and win yourself tickets to a mind-blowing acrobatics performance at the Sydney Opera House.
Yes, people will be backflipping, swivelling and flicking themselves beneath the beige fins of the famous venue. These people are the Tom Tom Crew- Australia’s extreme circus act. They have been dubbed “an urban, streetwise version of Cirque du Soleil” and The New York Times has claimed that they “happily wage war with the laws of physics”. Strut & Fret Production House have brought together some of Australia’s most talented musicians and circus artists to create the Tom Tom Crew and the Sydney Opera House throws open its doors to this force-fuelled production in January 2010.
“But what ever happened to me pen doin’ backflips?” You may ask. Vibewire has an answer…
Vibewire is alive with excitement as we have two double passes to see the Tom Tom Crew live in all their musical and acrobatic glory! You have the chance to see, for free, a circus at its most extreme where the dynamic explosiveness of the human body is matched by the sheer power of hip-hop rhythms.
To win one of 2 double passes to see the Tom Tom Crew in action at the Sydney Opera House, send us a short story, poem or journalistic composition (500 words or less) about someone or something that you think is EXTREME!
